Connecting with nature at the lake

Today was a really good day!  We took a short drive to a lake and spent the day with friends, disconnected from technology, and connecting with nature.  We enjoyed a picnic, the kids played outside, we took a train ride, and rode a carousel.  We also took time to walk in the woods, feed the ducks, and skipped rocks in the lake.  These are the days that the kids will remember forever!

As an adult these are the days we must make a priority and reconnect with a slower pace that once existed.  Disconnecting from all the demands of life, technology, and the rat race of traffic is spirit lifting, and does wonders for the peace of a person's soul!  Taking the time to connect with your children or a child in your life reminds you that it is OK to play and be silly.  It is OK for the schedule to fall to the bottom of all the things "to do."  Relax and just go have fun, and view life through the life of a child, it's priceless!
